What can I expect at my first appointment?
- Review of your medical history
- Biomechanical assessment of your injured body part
- Explanation of your injury
- Treatment
- Exercise sheet for home exercises
- Discussion regarding goals and treatment plan
How many times will I need to see my Physiotherapist?
- Every injury is unique so length of treatment varies. After your initial assessment your physiotherapist will give you an estimated length and course of treatment. For most injuries, you will need to have three visits per week in order to settle the inflammation quickly.
How long is each treatment session?
- Treatments vary in duration. They are anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes. If you have a time constraint, let your physiotherapist know upon arrival.
What if I have to cancel an appointment?
- We require one full business day’s notice if you have to cancel or change an appointment, so that someone else who needs treatment can be seen in your place. Our hours of operation vary each day, so messages left on the answering machine after hours are not always acceptable. If you do not give sufficient notice there is a $30 charge that must be paid prior to your next treatment.
What should I wear to physiotherapy?
- You should wear something comfortable and stretchy that will enable your therapist to easily access the area that is being treated. If you need to change (i.e. into shorts or a t-shirt) we have a change room. All treatment beds have curtains that can be drawn around for privacy if needed. Let your therapist know if you would like more privacy at any time.
